Alden-Hebron High School sports (Opens in new window).The winner advances to the Sullivan Regional to face Carlinville on Wednesday, May 17 at 4:30 p.m. Weather permitting, the Panthers are off to Lovington to face Arthur-Lovington/Atwood- Hammond in the first round of the IHSA Class 2A Regional Tournament at 4:30 p.m. Moore went 3-and-2/3rds innings and surrendered 7 runs on 5 hits. Moore got credit for the win, coming in for relief of File in the fourth. Karbach, Angel, Moore, File and Lynch each had a stolen base. Ryan Karbach, Blayne Pope and Madyx Angel each collected a hit as well. Cole File went 2-for-4 with a triple and 2 RBI’s and Dane Epley was 2-for-3. The Panthers had 10 hits in the contest, led by Parker Moore who was 3-for-4 with a double. The Panthers trailed 7-3goingintothetopofthe sixth when they exploded for 6 runs and take the lead, 8-7. On Thursday, May 11, the Panthers visited Sullivan and came home with a 9-8 victory. Pope was the middle reliever with 3 innings pitched, allowing no runs on 2 hits. Epley was the starter, pitching 2 inning and giving up 3 runs on 6 hits. He allowed 4 hits and 3 earned runs with a strikeout. Karbach relieved in the sixth and was credited with the win. Offensively, the Panthers racked up eleven hits. Madyx Angel and Parker Moore each singled. Brant Bowker and Blayne Pope each had RBI singles. Eli Lindsay doubled in 4 plate appearances with an RBI. Ryan Karbach was 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored. Cash Lynch went 3-for-4 at the plate and drove in a run. In game action, a walk-off single in the bottom of the 8th by Dane Epley seized the win for Pana. A round of applause was given in appreciation of his years of service. He retired after this past weekend and this was his last game umpiring at Pana. The previous night, the Panthers visited Sullivan and came home with another come from behind win, this time a 9-8 victory.ĭuring Friday’s game, umpire Charlie Wagner of Pana was recognized for his 35 years of umpiring.
